The standard Idaho #7 hop flavor shines with pine, stone fruit, and predominantly herbal character. Tea-like, some citrus, floral and peach or white grape aroma. This 7% ABV beer is surprisingly drinkable with the addition of crystal 20 malt to round the flavor out just enough.
Pairings: Lemon Smiles Girl Scout Cookies
Traditionally brewed to complement the brisk temperatures of Scotland, the Scottish strong ale is packed full of malt, making its consumption effortless. The residual sweetness is derived from its extremely low IBU's, and we at AIBC like to refer to it as the antithesis of the IPA.
Pairings: Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies
Traditionally brewed around Louisville, Kentucky, this dark cream ale should be enjoyed fresh. A little rye, a little dark malt, and a generous amount of corn make this easy to drink with lots of flavor.

This is a collaboration with Mission Trail Cider Co - a lactic forward, sour wheat beer blended with barrel aged nectarine lees and nectarine cake. We used two unique ingredients, both lees and cake in this beer. Lees is the awesome yeast that dropped out of nectarine cider and cake is the residual macerated nectarine fruit in the Mission Trail Cider Co barrels.
Pairings: Garden salad featuring any seasonal stone fruit.
Gin-influenced raw ale featuring similar botanicals to what you find in your favorite gin: bay, rosemary cardamon, juniper, and no hops are added during production. The beer is "raw" because it is not boiled, a crazy departure from modern brewing techniques.

An American Malt Liquor brewed with a blend of two row & six row malts, flaked maize, and corn sugar. Result is a crisp, clean and slightly sweet high gravity lager that hasn't been aged in a clear bottle for months on end. Try a fresh, craft version of a style we all may have mixed feelings about from our youth; it's delicious!
We employ a unique, fast souring process to these "kettle soured" ales that adds a rich, clean acidity which sets the stage to allow different fruits to shine. In "punch" (as it's referred to in the brewpub), we add passion fruit, orange zest, and guava to simulate the flavor and aroma of POG Juice (or Hawaiian Punch). There's an pleasant tartness and zesty effervescence that makes this beer literally taste like juice. Those who enjoy sour beers, or have any open mind to understand what the limits of beer can be, will thoroughly enjoy this beer.
Double IPA brewed in collaboration with Amplified Ale Works. Fermented with a unique yeast strain that produces tropical-fruity flavors and aromas, complementing an arsenal of Mosaic, El Dorado & Nelson hops.
Collaboration with Cellarmaker, a West Coast IPA brewed with cryogenic lupulin hop powder. Bright citrus & exotic fruity notes courtesy of Mosaic, Citra & Galaxy hops with a crisp, refreshing finish.
Anchor Brewing Company’s roots date back to the California Gold Rush making it one of America’s oldest breweries. Its flagship Anchor Steam® Beer is San Francisco’s original since 1896. An undisputed icon, Anchor is America’s first craft brewery where beers are handmade in a traditional copper brewhouse from an all-malt mash. Anchor practices the time-honored art of classical brewing, employing state-of-the-art methods with carefully applied modern techniques to ensure that every beer is always pure and fresh.
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Steam® Beer is unique, for our brewing process has evolved over many decades and is like no other in the world. To give this classic beer a radically traditional twist, we created Anchor Dry-Hopped Steam Beer™. Made with its own special recipe, this brew is dry-hopped with a blend of new and traditional hops. The result weds the rich maltiness of Anchor Steam with the alluring fragrant hoppiness of our ales.
Pairings: Kung Pow shrimp, BBQ chicken, peach pie
We are excited to present our refreshingly unique craft-brew, Anchor’s Mango Wheat™; an ale made with sunripened mangoes. Mangoes (Mangifera indica) are native to southern Asia, but Californians have enjoyed fresh mangoes since the 1850s. In 1857, Wide West reported that the mango “is at once the richest and most delicate of all fruits, and all other fruits are comparatively insipid beside its intensity of taste. There is something in it which is nothing less than voluptuous.” Anchor’s Mango Wheat is a crisply refreshing, effervescent, golden ale that highlights the delectable character of this singular fruit: Brightness without sharpness, fullness of flavor without heaviness, tropical aroma without pungency, and complexity without cacophony.
Pairings: Coconut shrimp, papaya salad, sweet glazed BBQ
Anchor Brewing’s latest barrel aged release is a marriage between two classics – maybe more like friends with benefits, but you get the picture. We aged our Old Foghorn Barleywine in freshly emptied Old Potrero Rye Whiskey Barrels for one year to make a beautifully aged Barleywine with a subtle rye whiskey bite. This is a big beer that just got bigger by all that time in the barrel. The color of the beer is deep mahogany and it pours with a frothy, creamy light brown head that laces perfectly on your favorite snifter glass. The aroma is reminiscent of whiskey barrels, fine cigars & riverboat gambling. The taste is velvety smooth, thick with caramelized malty sweetness, and has a gentle slow build towards a slightly chocolaty, roasty finish. Notes of cooked fruit [think grilled peaches and grandma’s jam] and lightly charred wood linger in the background as well.
Pairings: Maytag blue cheese drizzled with California honey
Blackberry Daze IPA™ is a synergistic union of blackberries and hops. It gets its hop bitterness and some of its hop aroma in the brewhouse. Most of the action, however, is in the cellar, where the fruit is added during secondary fermentation. A special blend of loamy, herbaceous hops for dry-hopping complements the brightness and deep complexity of the blackberries. The result is a funky synthesis of rich earth and ripe fruit, hop bitterness and blackberry tartness, with alluring color and aromas up front, sublimely intense flavors, and a refreshingly dryish finish.
Pairings: Pulled pork, blue cheese, berry tart
Liberty IPA™ is our reimagining of craft-brew classic Liberty Ale®, envisioned through the lens of today’s IPAs. We first brewed Liberty Ale in 1975, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Paul Revere’s midnight ride. This revolutionary forerunner of the modern IPA introduced America to the Cascade hop and the nearly lost art of dry-hopping. Like its predecessor, Liberty IPA is made with two-row pale malt and Cascade hops. It is the combination of Cascade with new hop varieties that creates the mouthwateringly complex and robust aromas of pine and citrus in this crisp, American-style IPA.
Pairings: Mole turkey tacos, tom gha kai soup, fried chicken
Rich, crystal malts give this beer a deep copper hue and contribute a slight caramel sweetness while the herbal, spicy bitterness from carefully selected whole-cone hops impart a crisp, clean finish. Hints of sun toasted grain, toffee, and fruity esters compliment the mellow, noble hop aroma.
Pairings: Romano, Onion Rings, Roasted Chicken, Pasta Bolognese, Poached Pears, A great day
Based on the Flemish classic (Oud Bruin) this very complex beer has many flavor facets. Brewed using redwood tips and the rare New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hop, this lively red ale is aged in a variety of wine and spirit barrels before blending. The final blend also includes a small amount of our Grand Cru (a blend of both Brother David’s Belgian ales aged in wine barrels). The resulting beer is very complex medium-bodied beer with a vinous character from the wine barrels and spicy notes from both the redwood tips and the Nelson Sauvin hops. Combined with a light sourness from the bacterial fermentation, these myriad flavors are underlined by a smooth, round Belgian character from the Grand Cru – an extremely complex yet very drinkable beer. Barrels Used: Various wine and spirit barrels. Yeast or Bacteria Used: House yeast, Pediococcus. Time Aged: 18 months-2yrs
Pairings: Camembert, Rich Beef Stew, Pan-Seared Duck, Your taste buds!
Bright golden yellow color and aromas of rich tropical fruit, passion fruit with a hint of citrus. Pale, pilsner, and midnight wheat give it a solid malt character while Chinook, Citra, and Amarillo hops impart flavors of ripe tropical fruit, peach and apricot leading to a clean hoppy finish.
Pairings: Sharp Cheddar, Roquefort, Grilled lamb, an empty glass
Brewed to emulate the flavors of a "classic cocktail," the base recipe is Holy Gose, but we add the botanicals (lemon peel, juniper, cinchona bark, grains of paradise, lemongrass) at knockout (when the boil ends) and run it through the hop back (to remove any excess botanicals) before it goes to the fermentor. We add cucumber and salt and let it finish fermentation before heading to the brite and packaging. This beer came about after some discussions about beer cocktails and barrel aged gins - we wanted to see if we could create a “beer cocktail” with only beer but that had a “cocktail” like flavor. Bitter lemon peel, salty citrus, slightly herbal with a lemon-lime tartness and slightly peppery finish, it showcases botanical flavors and aromas of lemon peel, juniper, lemongrass, and grains of paradise.
Pairings: Herb-Crusted Goat Cheese, Grilled Chicken or Fish, Salads, A night out with friends
True to its Boontling moniker, “Huge Arker” is a massive force of nature that detonates on your tongue. After primary fermentation, the beer is aged in Wild Turkey® Bourbon barrels until it fully matures. The deep mahogany color is evocative of the opulence to follow. Dark luscious aromas of burnished oak mingle with candy sugar, bourbon and hearth-baked bread. The luxurious flavors redolent of honey and molasses are intertwined with the richness of dark chocolate and the ardent warmth of alcohol, underpinned with hints of coffee, vanilla and dark fruits.
Pairings: Bleu Cheeses, Aged Gouda, Smoked Goose, Chocolate Truffles, A warm fireside on a cold night
Our most award winning beer, Gold Country Pilsner is brewed as a traditional American-style Pilsner - a popular beer enjoyed by early settlers in our region. Our Pilsner is pale in color, has brilliant clarity and a soft white head. The subtle up front biscuit flavor balances well with the delicate hops that contribute to this beer's dry, snappy finish. Brewer’s Notes: A touch of maize lends a subtle sweetness and light body. ZZ Hop triple IPA was brewed as a tribute to a true hop fanatic who is known in these parts as “The Hop Hunter”. The elusive bearded Sierra Hop Hunter can be found in the mountainous regions of Northern California. While not officially nocturnal, he prefers to hunt hops in low light conditions for extended periods of time. Triple the hop iSOBERization from three different forms of Chinook, Centennial and Amarillo hops. An intense floral and piney aroma with an explosion of hop flavor quickly turn to sharp bitterness followed by a brief encounter with malted barley. One sip will make your tongue feel like a hop oil spill has occurred just past your lips.
Pairings: Spicy dishes
Using the Prickly Pear fruit blooming from wild cactus plants precariously perched from the cliffs overlooking our brewery, we have created a hazy, New-England style Triple IPA, as dangerously delicious as the journey up the cliffs required to reach the precious fruit.

We are a San Francisco brewery producing our beers in small batches one beer at a time. It is our goal to keep your taste buds intrigued by constantly producing different flavors. To us, making the same 3-4 beers all the time would be boring. We hope you feel the same way. Our limited output and choice to abandon the common concept of a set production schedule will allow us to constantly experiment with different hops, barrels, and yeasts.
IPA predominantly hopped with Nelson Sauvin as well as smaller amounts of Motueka, Galaxy, Centennial, and Sterling.
We conditioned a small portion of Vastness of Space Imperial Stout on Madagascar vanilla beans. The base beer itself is aggressive on roasted coffee notes as well as dark chocolate and fig characteristics. Vanilla adds another dynamic and fortunately does not sweeten the beer up. It's smooth yo!

Brette Davis Eyes is a Blonde American Sour Ale, made with American two-row barley and wheat. Overall this refreshing beer drinks dry with a moderate lactic tartness up front fading to mild bready, wheat and malt notes.

This Czech-style Pilsner is crystal clear and has a crisp, dry finish with a slight lingering bitterness. Very easy drinking and very reminiscent of a beer you may find in Prague.
We are a San Francisco community focused brewery. Our beer drinking philosophy is as such: Beer snobs need not saddle up to our tap room bar unless they drop all pretension. We want everyone who enters our place to feel comfortable; whether it's someone who is a super beer geek or someone who knows nothing beyond macro brewed beer. We see our place as a community gathering spot with no intimidation. Don't know much about a saison or stout? Maybe you've never heard of the beer styles saison or stout. That's ok, just ask and we are happy to non-judgementally answer any questions you may have and serve you a beer that you can enjoy. We don't subscribe to the \best beer in the world"theory. In our opinion"
We took inspiration from both coasts for this delicious, highly aromatic, yet aggressively-bittered take on the DIPA style. This beer is Hella cool in it's clarity of appearance and lasting hop bitterness, but has a decidedly New England influence in its Wicked use of GigaYeast Vermont IPA yeast that lends stone fruit character, its tropical fruit hop aroma, and slightly creamy mouthfeel. A merger of two current regional expressions of the American IPA family that remains exceedingly drinkable - we're sure you'll enjoy this hybrid interpretation of the DIPA style!
Pairings: Spicy foods (Thai, Mexican)
Brewed in the "New Skool" way the kids are doing it these days - lower bitterness, huge hop aroma (citrus, tropical and stone fruits), with a fairly cloudy appearance, this beer is super refreshing and easy to drink. This newer take on the classic style that put craft beer on the map is a hop showcase without being exceedingly bitter - a kinder, gentler approach to the bitter hop bombs of years past, you'll find yourself reaching for another, then another, and hopefully another!
Pairings: Burgers, Pizza, Nachos
Our Belgian-style stout, similar to a British Foreign Extra Stout, with hints of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts, but the Belgian yeast character shines through and lends an added layer of complexity with its spicy and fruity aromas and flavors.
Pairings: Roasted meats, Chocolate-based desserts
Our "Iron Brewer Competition" winner! We held a contest forcing homebrewers to use a specified, secret ingredient - our winning team, Luis Castro, David Jacoby, and Gordon Mauger from the DOZE Homebrew Club, created this delicious Saison using their assigned ingredient - a Warming Crimson Berry Tea - then added some additional Hibiscus flowers to give it a beautiful hue and aroma. We invited them to scale it up in the brewery, and the result is divine! Slightly spicy, a bit of lemon, cranberry notes, and a wonderful floral presence in a Saison base with a pleasant, dry finish.
Pairings: Salads, Light Appetizers
The 2015 Batch #2 begins its journey as DBA, then transforms into Agrestic by a “chrysalis” process involving 85% French and 15% American oak barrels and our proprietary collection of microflora. To blend, we selected beer matured eight to 36 months in barrels, creating a synergistic beer. Like Batch #1, Agrestic Batch #2 signature flavors and aromas shine. Toasted oak, lemon pith, and rosewood swirl on the nose and palate, followed by an amazing harmony of vanilla, coconut, Earl Grey tea, dark cherries and spice. The finish is crisp, with a mouthwatering acidity and chewy tannins.
What began as a birthday gift, took on a life of its own. Proprietor David Walker cornered us one day and requested a sour cherry fermented beer for his 50th birthday. Done. A handful were sold at a Liberation, after which our loyal patrons demanded more. Voilà, Krieky Bones Batch #2! This beer begins its life as a Flanders Red style beer aged 24 months in a 2200 gallon French oak foeder. Sour Montmorency cherries are added and allowed a secondary fermentation. The aroma is of cherry pie complete with flavors of pie crust and spicy notes. Vienna malt notes give way to an assertive acidity, and a bright carbonation.
An ever-evolving mix of experimental hops, designed to deliver mind-blowing flavors that break the rules with each new release. The unique revolution number on the label tells you which release you have in hand. Crack fresh and enjoy the show.
Pivo Hoppy Pils is a classically rendered pilsner with a West Coast dry-__hopping twist, showcasing stylistic influences from Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. Lighter beer styles like pilsner have been hijacked by industrial lager beer in the United States, and it’s time for craft brewers to take it back. Pivo Hoppy Pils o_ers impeccable balance with floral aromatics, spicy herbal nuances, and bergamot zest and lemongrass notes from dry hopping with German Saphir hops. 2013, 2014, and 2015 Gold Medal Winner at GABF

We want our beers to tell a story, inspire an idea, and be thoroughly enjoyable.

Harmonic beer is also available on draft at fine Bay Area drinking establishments.
Inspired by the Talking Heads song, Crosseyed and Painless, we collaborated with our friends at Old Bus Tavern to make two beers with Idaho 7 hops on either end of the ABV spectrum. Old Bus made the Painless version, a 5% session IPA, and we made Crosseyed, an 11% IIIPA. The big malt backbone and fruitiness of Idaho 7 hops give it a chewy, marmalade and overripe mouthfeel with a delicate lime aroma. Our biggest beer ever, yet it maintains our core belief in balance.
First-ever imperial version of our signature Rye Old Fashioned. 30% rye grains and ample cascade and Amarillo bittering & aroma hops, smoothed out with a citrus twist and oak aging.
100% mosaic hops fro bittering to dry hopping
When did all these pretentious people take over something as simple and awesome as beer drinking? Headlands Brewing wants to take craft beer back for the regular people who just love beer.
A traditional German Hefeweizen grain bill (50% wheat) with a bit of rye to draw out the pepper and spice notes from the light hopping schedule. Refreshing on its own, this beer also pairs seamlessly with your favorite brat, schnitzel.
The story behind this beer is that we filled a barrel with our first beer that we brewed as Headlands. Each year at beer week we drain the barrel, but leave 5-10 gallons to inoculate the next batch and also add 1 more barrel. As this is the 4th year, this year we will be blending liquid from 4 barrels with fresh beer. The base beer for this sour solera is our award winning Pt. Bonita Pilsner.
This Bohemian Pilsner is highlighted by the spiciness from the rye (15%). It has just enough noble hop character and body from the rye malt to remind you you're drinking a beer. Light, crisp and refreshing, Pt. Bonita bridges gaps between beer, food, and lifestyle. This beer was awarded a bronze medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival® and noted as a National Top 20 Beer by the Good Food Awards.
This West Coast inspired IPA features the versatile Mosaic hop. Late additions show off this hops array of flavor and aroma – floral, spicy, and fruity. Awarded the Finalist Award (National Top 20 Beer) by the Good Food Awards, this IPA stands out among all IPAs and pairs well with a variety of foods.
HenHouse Belgian-style Golden Ale is the first beer we ever brewed and a study in fermentation character. Trappist yeast esters and a blend of European hops create a depth of fruit flavors, cantaloupe, banana, peaches and apricots, which conceal this beer's strength and lend to social sipping. Dry and warming, it's a beer that can age or be enjoyed today. HenHouse Golden Ale is the work of our hands, hearts and brains and we hope you enjoy this beer as much as we enjoy making it.
Our IPA is the dankness. Your life is the light. Go into the dankness, it's what you want. A blend of Cascade, Simcoe, Hallertau Blanc, Belma and Mosaic hops lend a depth of tropical and piney flavors to this wildly aromatic hop monster, and lend a depth of goodness to your life. Come into the dankness.
Recurring Nightmare keeps coming back. This Imperial Stout has been blended with all of our previous Imperial Stouts and aged in whiskey barrels, creating a continuum of dark, roasty, decadent goodness. And then we added a bunch of Acre Coffee. The seemless blend of vanilla oakiness, dark malt roast character, chocolate and coffee comes together as a beer meant for sharing. HenHouse Recurring Nightmare is the work of our hands, hearts and brains and we hope you enjoy this beer as much as we enjoy making it.
HenHouse Saison is made with Sonoma County wheat, for drinking after a long day at work. We brew it with black pepper and coriander, which builds on the spiciness of the French saison yeast. The grapefruit and orange peel you taste is from a slight Cascade hops addition. Wheat and German pilsner malt give our Saison a dry, gently grainy finish. It's a beer you can sit and think about, but you don't have to.
The blood orange is the darling of the citrus world with its trademark sweet and tart citrus flavors and a richer, berry-like sweetness. The beer pours a deep ruby red color in the glass and explodes with an amazing aroma of 35,000 fresh cut oranges.

Our flagship brew is a big amber ale, much like the first IPA’s from Amber Ale the dawn of the industrial revolution. A blend of Caramel Malts give this beer a rich yet highly drinkable body, and heavy-handed additions of Nugget, Cascade, and Liberty hops protect this beer for the long cruise to India.
: At its base, it’s a hearty, malty pale-colored ale with a modest does of Fuggle hops for low bittering. At the end of the boil, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme are added as if they were aroma hops.
Brewed with Pale, Caramel and Smoked malts with a hint of roasted ale barley. Hopped and re-hopped and hopped again with Columbus, Glacier, and Willamette hops. Served with mixed gas.
This is a ridiculous, over the top, and hideously exaggerated Pale Ale. In other words, better known as a “California IPA”. This beer's all about the hops. It starts with Columbus for extra-large bitterness. The late and dry hops center on the piney and slightly floral Mt. Hood, while the Citra, Glacier, and more Columbus provide tropical, spicy, and skunky notes. Malt? Nothing too fancy about this beer, but it is unfiltered and there’s a lot of it – so drink it while you can.
Robust as a moon that dares cross the sun, this porter-like brew Black Ale features Chocolate and Black Malts for a dark-roasted coffee-like flavor. Hopped with a-shade-more-than-typical additions of Nugget & Columbus Hops for an assertive, yet still pleasant bitterness. Served with mixed gas at the brewpub.

A tropically hoppy, light, yet full-bodied, bright and citrusy ale. The magical, mystical 12th of Never is a blend of Old and New School hops that play bright citrus, rich coconut, and papaya-esque flavors, all on a solid stage of English puffed wheat. Tropically hoppy. Light, yet full-bodied. Bright and citrusy. The 12th of Never Ale is everything we’ve learned about making hop-forward beer expressed in a moderate voice. Pale, cold, slightly alcoholic and bitter. It’s all we know. These 12 oz. mini-kegs (AKA cans) are an exciting new option for us, and we are stoopid stoked at the opportunity for y'all to take us to all those new, nelophobic locations…
We took some fresh Sanguinello Blood oranges, juiced 'em, concentrated that juice (without heat) and threw it into a wheatier version of our New Dogtown Pale Ale. The end result? A refreshingly hopped pale-ish ale with a huge citrus burst!
A dark sour fermented with dark red wine grapes, giving it a uniquely deep and rich purple hue. Then it received the signature Lagunitas treatment with a healthy dose of experimental dry hops. This might just shock your taste buds!
This beer couldn't have been done without the help from our friends at High West Distillery in Park City, UT and Chicago's-own Metropolis Coffee. We brewed a rich, malty Imperial Stout with some of Metropolis' Spice Island blend, then let it vintag-ize in High West Rye and Bourbon Barrels for up to 17 FREAKING MONTHS. It's good to have friends!
A well-rounded, highly drinkable IPA. A bit of Caramel Malt barley provides the richness that mellows out the twang of the hops.
We took the base of our Hop Stoopid recipe, peeled back some of the specialty malts and replaced them with some oats and wheat to build out the body. Then we did what we do every year for this beer, and added some new and experimental dry hops. To finish it off we racked this beer onto a soft fluffy bed of lupilin powder to round out the dry hop additions.

Haze Craze is made in collaboration with former Moylan's brewmaster/current Half Moon Bay brewmaster James Costa. All of the hops were added during the whirlpool which included Citra and El Dorado, as well as whole cone Simcoe and Eukanot flowers, and Simcoe "hop hash". Dry hopped with an abundance of Simcoe, Citra, and El Dorado.
Made with the second runnings of a huge malty Wee Heavy, we brewed a small beer we called Little Lifter. We racked Little Lifter into our solera project barrels which are Pinot Noir barrels that have a wide ranging array of microflora. After aging in there for 8 months, it had developed a nice level of funk and fruitiness. Named after one of our vertically challenged bartenders.
We partnered with our friends at Ritual Coffee in the SOMA part of San Francisco to bring you this big coffee and chocolate bomb. Dry hopped liberally with Crystal hops to counterbalance a fruity Belgian ester note.

Reminiscent of a Chocolate Black Currant Torte dessert, this Black Saison has a beautiful ginger nose that washes away evenly as you sip it down. Mouth watering fruity and spicy esters swirl besides notes of pine, earth, and chocolate, but remains dry to remind you that it is indeed a Saison.
A reproduction of caramel, dark sugar, malt, and fruity viniferous like flavors shimmer in a gradient of black to red, under a weighted booziness that distorts the truth, leaving you second guessing your usually reliable input of the senses for a distorted copy of reality.

The mouth feel is lively and very complex as layers of Noble hops marry with eight malts to produce a beer sure to please Anton Dreher (father of the Vienna Lager). A neighborhood brewpub in Bernal Heights, Old Bus is an expression of the humble, steady and unfettered approach we take to our brewing, cooking and cocktails. Brewers Ben and John start from classicAMerican and Belgian styles that are reinterpreted through experimentation. While we love big, unusual beers as much as any beer geek, we strive to balance those with brews that are enjoyable from start to finish, day after day. After eight years of home-brewing, our new steam-fired four barrel brewhouse is a big step up for us. But it's still small enough to give us the freedom to experiment with new recipes and ingredients each batch.

Cudera is an Italian ant that has a red head and a black body, a figurative image of how this beer is created. We take un-fermented beer and un-fermented wine, blend them, then co-ferment them with both a beer and a wine yeast. Etienne Hunyady of Bolgheri, Tuscany and Jan-Erik Paino of Ruhstaller, Sacramento, California combine their passions to bring you Cudera. This particular batch is made with Napa Cabernet grape must.
The Test IPA was born in our RFR+D Program. It has had many code names, including Blanco and Citra Mafia. When visitors to the Taproom liked it and we couldn’t stop drinking it ourselves, we realized that perhaps we had something worth sharing. With this beer, we are in a perpetual state of refinement. We are constantly changing the hop varietals and ratios of each Test IPA, getting feedback, and then scaling them up again.
